Beacons Cymru is a Welsh music industry sills and talent development organisation supporting young people to access sustainable careers within the creative industries. Through artist development, mentoring, training and live opportunities, we provide vital knowledge, networks and professional development for emerging creatives across Cymru.
JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for a creative Marketing Officer to join our marketing team. Your primary focus will be to support our marketing team in delivering our marketing strategy across all projects and live events. We’re hoping the ideal candidate will love music, is confident with admin tasks, organised, good communicator and experienced in marketing and content making.
We are looking for an engaging storyteller who can tell our audiences about the essential work and role we provide in Music Industry Development. We want assistance in capturing the people, moments and journeys in shaping the future of music in Cymru. Responsibilities include assisting with marketing campaigns across all Beacons Cymru projects, including caption writing, collecting of assets, writing and delivering newsletters. All our staff work remotely; therefore, home working is essential.
Hourly fee: National Living Wage approved - £13.45 p/hr
Hours per week: 21 hours
Contract: Freelance, fixed-term (10 months initially), with opportunity for extension subject to future funding
Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with the marketing team to deliver our marketing strategy across all digital platforms and projects

Support the marketing team with management of all social media channels and keep up with current social media trends

Analysing data to create storytelling opportunities

Manage email campaigns

Ensure website is kept up to date with project information and live events

Provide support across all of Beacons Cymru projects and work as required from time to time
Essential
-
Previous marketing experience and passion for music
-
Excellent copywriting skills – including caption writing and email campaign writing

Good organisational skills and the ability to work individually and as part of a team

Ability to analyse data

Computer literate in Microsoft Office and confident using all social media platforms

We’re looking for a punctual, organised, friendly and flexible individual

Passion for marketing and storytelling through various communication mediums

Knowledge of the music industry in Cymru
Desirable

Written and spoken Welsh

Previous marketing experience – ideally within the music industry

Comfortable in front of camera

Experience on inter-connected campaigns

Access to / familiar with Adobe Creative Suite
