About Beacons
Beacons is a pan-Wales organisation aiming to empower the next generation of young people (aged 16-25) aspiring to work in the Welsh music industry. Following the success of regional projects - Forté Project (est. 2015) and Young Promoters Network (est. 2010) - Beacons formed with the support of Creative Wales in 2021.
Our vision is to provide all young people across Wales with access to the industry knowledge, opportunities, networks and skills necessary to carve sustainable careers and new business models in the Welsh music industry.
Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a new freelance Project Manager who has a very keen interest in joining the Beacons Cymru team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in the music industry and a passion for empowering others. Experience in the music / creative industries is desirable, but not essential. Training will be provided.
The responsibilities will include managing a series of Beacons Cymru initiatives, supporting our Project Officers, and helping to coordinate workshops and live events
Main duties and responsibilities
> To develop, plan, manage and implement a series of Beacons Cymru projects.
> To mentor Project Officers.
> To liaise with music industry stakeholders, professionals and venues.
> To manage project budgets in line with deliverables.
> To lead team meetings.
> To undertake relevant training.
> To write progress and evaluation reports for projects.
> To flexibly respond to the needs of the project.
> To support and co-ordinate key events in Beacons Cymru’s portfolio.
Who Are We Looking For?
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

Essential:
> Experience with leading music or art-based projects
> Reliable and committed
> Ability to work as a team
> Someone with a keen interest in/ knowledge of Welsh arts & music scene
> Experience of freelancing
> DBS certificate - www.gov.uk/request-copy-criminal-record (this can be arranged upon appointment to the post)
Desirable:
> Past experience in the music industry
> Contacts with current music and/or arts and media sectors
> Ability to speak and write in the Welsh language.
